VesuvanDoppelbanger Reverend

Long time player, and have been in and out a few years at a time. I've been fortunate enough to have friends start playing, quit, and hand me their cards enough times to have gathered a sizable collection.

I built 60 card decks for many years, under many different formats, most of them are still around in one form or another. Commander definitely rekindled my deck building enthusiasm, and it's what I currently play most of the time.

Building less competitive decks that are quirky and fun to play is my favorite part of MTG.

I really need some help on my 3 decks if you want to take a look and maybe give a few suggestions then that would be awesome! I'll also be checking out your decks too and I'll try to comment some suggestions on yours in return.

Hello VesuvanDoppelbanger! I've been looking around TappedOut for EDH experts to look my deck, Bad Luck Brion, and I thought you'd be able to help me out! I'm not looking for much, just your general thoughts, opinions and suggestions! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for checking out my Space Pirates deck! I usually return the favor by running through all of the upvoters decks.

My, my, what a lot of decks you have. You seem like my kind of deck builder.

Thanks for jumping in recently on The Meat Master to explain things. Always appreciated.

Snap157 - I went full-tilt balls-out on the combo here - only 5 cards (some of the removal) aren't potentially pieces of the token machine. Even with a few things getting hit with removal, by turn 7 or 8 I usually have enough token generation combined w/ pumps or doublers to win that turn.

To be fair, this deck has been brought to it's knees by a Fog, but that's not usually the case.

Snap157. That's a beautiful idea. I think I have one hanging around, so it's gonna go in!

Your deck names made me laugh, so I upvoted them all. Thanks for checking out my Space Pirate deck. Sek'Kuar, The Meat Master is my pride and joy at the moment - if you have a moment, give it a peak.

May you top deck your win con, and may Lord Google bless you.

friendlymulligan - Thanks for the compliment! I'm looking forward to Ixalan, as there'll be a whole slew of pirates coming around. Our Space Pirate friends are sure to find a new crew member.

Sick Borg reference, bro.

How 'bout a Throne of the God-Pharaoh? Great synergy w/ Lodestone Myr and Myr Battlesphere.

KrimeFyta - Thank you!! I've always looked at the Rishadan crew and wondered how to do something nasty with them. This baby just popped out and it feels so good.

The golden goose for this deck has a hefty price tag, but Doubling Season often ends games.

Ramp that abuses Atraxa would be helpful. Astral Cornucopia and Everflowing Chalice can become huge mana sources.

Mirrodin's Core is excellent fixing.

The whole cycle of Parallax "X" get very interesting when sustainable w/ Atraxa. - Parallax Wave, Parallax Tide, and Parallax Nexus.

Norn's Annex and Sphere of Safety to keep your PWs safe.

Fling in a deck, as a creature, in Magic in general, has always been a sweet spot for me. I love it.

Here are some seasoning suggestions to spice that baby up.

Ogre Battledriver - I'm aware Ball Lightning-type creatures don't need haste, but that +2 adds up quick.

Homura, Human Ascendant - Fling it, now everything is bigger and has evasion.

Ronin Warclub - Here you go Mr. Raging Elemental of Fiery Fury, have a club. Every time.

Grafted Wargear - Even better. Equipment without Equip costs feels like cheating.

Steelshaper's Gift - You're already running enough Equipment to justify it, plus these 2 I just mentioned.

Pandemonium - Risky, but better costed than Warstorm Surge.

Gift of Estates - Hitting those lands drops is very meaningful in colors that don't ramp.

Treasonous Ogre - Highly effective at fueling power plays. You're gaining tons of life anyway, right?

Gamble is on-point for the bad luck theme.

I see that Lifeline is already in your MaybeBoard. That effect is bonkers with sac-creatures.

All in all, a beautiful deck with power and personality. Bravo.

rottenoysters Good picks, but I'm fearful for things that slow myself down. This deck moves pretty slowly until the sac effects start stacking. I'll try the Winter Orb a bit and see how it turns out. I do run artifact mana here, so it could work.

I adored the new Ramos from the moment I saw him. I love that the deck can literally be any or all colors since he's colorless to cast.

Do you run into issues with multiples of the same PW? 4 of each seems steep, but that flavor. Awesome.

LeoSushi I understand why they banned the card, but dammit, it was in like 3 of my decks.

It was replaced here by more ramp...
