Oh sorry, I should've mentioned that my binder here is not very up to date. I have a lot of pieces for affinity and merfolk laying around as I had both decks.

But that doesn't do me a lot of good if I don't know what you have. I'll have to think about what I need. I've got my main board for Affinity, I just need the side, but I don't think I have anything for Merfolk currently, and I don't know if I want to build that, Lantern Control, or another commander deck. But since you have stuff for Merfolk, that's what I'll worry about for now.

I have now purchased what I needed for Affinity. Somehow saved $60 too, and that's after Tax!
I will update my binder later to reflect what is not for general trading purposes. Still at least partially interested in Merfolk, and I will update what I need, since my math works out to missing about 7 cards from my deck and I don't know what those are.

In terms of land tapping late game, I think since both fumarole and spirebluff will be tapped, fumarole would be better.

Why not play Spirebluff Canal? Just prefer not to have them tapped?

Blood Crypt is RTR. The Gearhulks are fine, but I don't know about the avacyn. It wasn't one of the things I listed, because it's in a deck I don't particularly want to trade from, but I'm also fouling it so I need a Foil Avacyn anyway. Even so, that's still only $50 total which isn't even 2 Ravager. I've got a Keranos EDH I haven't put up here yet, though I don't know if there's anything in there you'll want.

There is also a Basilisk Collar in there as well. I just don't recall what I took out for it.

Hello everybody. I'm finally deciding to try and finish the monumentally expensive task of completing my Affinity deck, and possibly getting some things for Modern Merfolk as well. Aside from the listed Haves, I've got a Saheeli Rai and 4x Torrential Gearhulk. You should be able to find the Olivia deck on my profile, and the Goblin deck has 4x Goblin Guide (ZEN), 4x Warren Instigator, 2x Krenko, Mob Boss, 4x Goblin Chieftain and a few Goblin King, for most of the notable pieces. For Affinity, I'm looking for 3x Arcbound Ravager, prefer Modern Masters, and maybe Kaladesh Invention if you have one you want to get rid of, 4x Mox Opal, 2x Steel Overseer.
For Merfolk, I'm pretty much looking for anything at this point.

How well has this deck performed, or have you played it very much? I like U/R and I like to keep Standard as Cheap as possible, so I'm considering this deck.

I think about how much money its going to cost me to build it and wonder if I should just build Merfolk instead. I want them both eventually. I want a lot of things. I also have a Mayael the Anima edh I want to foil out, and I finally have the base deck with some foils. I play cheap Standard so I can afford crap like this :). Good luck, I hope your friends don't hate you for playing it.

Well thats good. I would never tell you not to play it, especially if its something you like playing, I just don't know what your budget is going to look like. I really like the deck too. I'm not sure what list I really want to play, as there are lots of variations you can make. Many lists usually run Spellskite in some number, and eventually you'll want a Sidebaord.

Generally when I buy things, I look at ebay because that's where I started buying things, and you can find some good deals usually. For sites, I usually just buy from CoolStuffInc.com as they have a rewards program that gets you discounts on things the more money you've spent with them, or whatever local shops there are around me, assuming they have what I want. Usually though when I want to trade or buy, I'll look on TappedOut first because it's usually a pretty nice place to find things. One thing I would note about buying in shops (though I don't discourage it, you should support you LGS' when you can) is that you'll have to pay tax. I live in Kansas with a 9% sales tax which means if I wanted something like 4x Arcbound Ravager and 4x Mox Opal, it's nearly $500 after tax which is ridiculous.
What cards do you have for the deck so far? Depending on where you're at, you might be better off building something else if you want to play soon, because Affinity is one of the more expensive decks in Modern. The only thing I can think of that is more expensive is Jund, but I could certainly be wrong there. I don't pay as much attention to Modern right now since I can't play it currently.

I haven't played Affinity yet, as I haven't finished my deck, so I couldn't tell you which is better, I just didn't know if you had any thoughts. I would rather go with Glimmervoid since it doesn't hurt you and it's fairly easy to keep Glimmervoid on the board, but I would definitely say Spire is a good budget alternative. As far as alternatives go, there are very few for this deck.
Side note: I almost outright bought all the pieces I needed since my LGS had everything, but then I realized that would be almost $400 after tax. I just took my Craterhoof Behemoth and ran. Also, when buying things, I'd look on eBay. When Arcbound Ravager was $40, I saw him listed at $30 there all the time.

At $9.99 MSRP, I think we can be assured that nothing on the RL is getting printed, for those of you thinking they might reprint them anyway.

How is spire of Industry over Glimmervoid?
