My friends got me into Magic in 2013. My first set i bought a pack of was M13, and I got a planeswalker. I didn't know what that meant since I hadn't ever gone to a FNM before, so I went online and looked up the story line. I became hooked! When my friends stopped going to my normal place to play against them at (It was a teen hangout) I followed them to FNM after they suggested I come, and I meant a lot of extremely nice people and I realized how in love I was with magic. I've probably spent more time on magic in the last year than I spent watching TV. It's the best thing in my life and I'm glad I have it. EDH is my favorite format after I was introduced to it by some older friends at FNM. I made my first deck, and became very VERY good at playing it.
