I can't see myself running Vengevine -- Only situation I see happening is casting a pair of Gravecrawler to get it out, and like you said stuff like Scavenging Ooze and Rest in Peace are they to remove it, let alone stuff like path. I will however take your advice and run a couple more lands. Since Green Devotion isn't such a big deal now, I can remove the Vorapede and put them in the sideboard.
I still say Treetop Village is slow -- Comes in tapped, needs mana to be an emergency blocker, and can easily be stomped down by removal. On the other hand, I'd not thought about Thrun -- Sideboarded.

The more and more I think about it, the more and more attractive an idea it becomes. A bit of G devotion in the form of a disposable instant isn't great, nor are any of the G devotion creatures that I can think of. Plus, still paying B to rid myself of counters.
If I'm not sold on Mutavault then it's highly unlikely I'm going to be sold on a slower manland. I get why Mutavault is so good, and there are certain decks where manlands are essential like Inkmoth Nexus in Infect, but nearly all of my creatures are 1-2 mana. Why does modern absolutely require me to run manlands 100% of the time?
Also; I don't want to be drowning in enchantments, but I'll add arena to the maybes for now.

Pawn of Ulamog would be good if it were more of a midrange build.
Also, this is as good as the mana base will get -- I'm not about to raffle a kidney just for a set of fetches or filters.
I don't want to really be losing life every turn, so I'll stick with Blood/Whisper for now, since I can swap them out for sideboard stuff -- Good call on Maelstrom Pulse, I'll put a pair in the sideboard for now since I have Abrupt Decay
Slip is pretty good, but I have RotA -- Going to keep it in mind though.

I've never been great at planning out sideboards, any recommendations? I'm thinking one slot should go to Bow of Nylea at least.

DoB is a bit meh in comparison to Gray Merchant. Sure, no draw, but I can gain more from devotion than off of power -- I'd be lucky if a DoB dropped while I had something like Vorapede out, but I have a better chance of having out Geralf's Messenger and a Gravecrawler

Crypt Ghast is a bit slow and not really what I want to do with the line-up. It had crossed my mind though.

Only problem with a lot of those suggestions is that they only work once with Undying. Hardened Scales does make my creatures bigger when they come back, and offer more potential -1/-1 with RotA, but that takes up a slot that would remove a Rancor or something else similar.
Altar's Reap and Blasting Station require the constant sacrifice that something like Melira + Persist offers. With Undying, unless you can remove the counters, those creatures won't come back, and RotA requires me to spend mana to do so (albeit only one B, but still).

If there's a creature that sacrifices to make mana, that's one way around it -- But it likely won't have a second effect like Scry or Draw.
