So.... sleeved up some of the new cards & played a quick game of solitaire. Most ridiculous play I've had, wish it'd happen during an actual game. Have to share!!

Turn one. Ancient Tomb, Sol Ring, Oblivion Stone. Turn two. Plains, Inspiring Statuary. Turn three.. Reliquary Tower, Karn Liberated, keeping the W open for removal.

@ Warxuaroz lol I hated MPS cards, until I saw them in person! I like the updated formatting for the card text too. It'll definitely be unique! If I end up pitching it for the original art, it'll be over the border.

I built this deck to be super janky with the ability to maybe pull off a win. Lately its been a serious force. Couple weeks ago I played out a few rocks, slapped down Hero's Blade, followed up with Aurelia for the win. Took out the table. Last FNM i pulled it out and with a LITTLE help (Playing secret partners) my secret partner stopped my "Enemy' from putting me down to 5 life by playing Reality Shift on their commander who had Sword of War and Peace, after making me draw a ton of cards. Next guy in turn order did nothing, followed by the dude that saved me, then my turn. I untapped and did 28 commander damage to my target.

So how it happened... turn 2 Boros Charm. Turn 3 Sunforger. Turn 4 Gilded Lotus then Darksteel Ingot. Turn 5 I opted to play out Gratuitous Violence and Palace Siege, instead of Iona, Shield of Emeria. This was a risky decision because it could have stalled up the game, then again it did paint a giant target on my head. Well, that was when my opponent played out his best attempt to kill me. Played an extra turn card to do it, too. Luckily for me, my secret partner saved my ass with that Reality Shift. On my turn 6 Aurelia was a 7/4, dealing 14 damage each combat. It was great.

@Warxuaroz Looks like Devoted Crop-Mate would hit 9 creatures in my deck. Which could be nice late-game, but pretty worthless early game. Sounds good but I doubt it'll be worth it. The only thing I'm actually looking forward to out of this set is the fancy Austere Command.

Well, I've just got one on order, so I have no idea how Pentarch will play out in mine. I expect it'll be a flop, honestly. Triple white - i have a hard enough time finding double white. However I don't plan on 'exploiting' with white. My meta knows better than to let that kind of thing happen and they're quick to murder 8.5.

All Is Dust is an auto include, IMO. It may be costly, but it takes care of the board & gets around ALL protection outside of 'Can't be sacrificed'. Also the first time you wipe out your opponents artifact collection, or key lands, you'll realize why its a key piece in all 8.5 decks.

Fiendslayer was cool in standard. I had a deck that really loved taking advantage of him. In commander I doubt it'll be very good. It's 'protection' is also half-assed.

Do you often have multiple creatures attacking? Duelist's Heritage seems like it could be sketchy. I know for me it would fail to trigger more often than not.

I'm also going to try Divine Reckoning. It's not a complete wipe, as 1 creature survives per player, but it does have flashback. That's something you may consider. 4CMC for initial cast. Otherwise I still recommend Austere Command. Great modal-removal. Options are good.

So as amazing as Avacyn can be, I think I'd rather bring in Linvala, Keeper of Silence.

I am also going to try out Pentarch Paladin to see how the extra removal may turn out.

Divine Reckoning, yet another I'm going to try out. Sure, they keep their best, but so do I.

Finally, Magus of the Tabernacle. It's been in the cart for 2 or 3 weeks. I think it's worth a slot.

Howdy! Been busy the past, uhh, hell i don't know. Missed a few FNM's, and have had a few I didn't even get to play 8. One of the guys in our group likes to play Sydri, Galvanic Genius which hoses my strategy.

How excited are you about seeing the banlist for duel? When I read it I thought about all the Vial Smasher decks you've had to contend with. I LOL'd pretty hard about it!

I'd say the Sword of Light and Shadow is an easy in. Especially now you've had an opening.

How has Pentarch Paladin worked out for you? Additional removal is always nice, but is it worth a slot over other options?
