ShaperSavant Deckling

Our love of the beautiful: it also is our shaping will. Alongside our "sense for truth", these two senses stand side-by-side; the sense for the real is the means of acquiring the power to shape things according to our wish. The joy in shaping and reshaping -- a primeval joy!

We can comprehend only a world that we ourselves have made.

Tazri's Allies can be slammed for Food Chain mana (either during the chain or to prepare). I've hit Imperial Seal targets with Excavator before and pitched it to Force. They're still synergistic pieces even if they're not as useful as other cards. The presence of an Ally in your hand also decreases the risk (thus increasing the options) of using Consultation and Pact, and prevents some lines that would shut off your fetching of an Ally when you're otherwise ready to win.

You can try Selvala, but she's weaker than Priest in a good few respects. When I want something to increase speed, I grab Azusa. Wood Elves is okay too, but is underwhelming like most of the 3-drops.

This is a decent place to start. Definitely look toward the "$150" build (they've all increased in value) as a base. The big pain point is mana colors; invest what you can into the land. Definitely get an Ad Nauseam in here.

Voltaic Key is mainly for untapping Candelabra, but also works with Ring, Crypt, Vault, Monolith, etc.

  • Hagra Diabolist: Having a third ally increases the odds of having successful Tainted Pact / Consultation. I would not be willing to drop one. (Also, not running Pull From Eternity -- would consider it if I was playing an a heavy exile meta.)

  • Mox Diamond: It's very rarely dead in hand. If anything, I'd be looking to drop another land from the deck, as I'm finding over-abundance.

  • Laboratory Maniac: It's a reasonably solid backup plan, but not 100% necessary. It gets around certain stax (particularly, Rule of Law) and can steal the game in ways that people don't expect.
