RubyStrings Deckling

I am RubyStrings. A couple of friends got me into MTG when M13 was coming out, but most of the first cards I got were from the Innistrad block. I've been an avid player ever since.

My favorite block is the Scars of Mirrodin block, mainly because of the story and nice atmosphere that comes with the Phyrexians.

My typical deck type is tokens, I like having a nice board presence splashed with a bit of hand disruption or lockdown spells here and there. I'll play pretty much anything though, my usual favorite color to build around in new Standard sets being green.

My current project is making a viable modern variant of my Trading Goat Control deck. It is my baby, but I'm not sure how well it actually works without Sol Ring.

I'm mainly here for trading, but I also love building decks here to export into Lackey.

Hey, I would be willing to include fetches in a deal since I am interested in your fetches. Was there a deal you had in mind already? I am pretty flexible with things as long as the trade stays fair.

Hey man sorry those cards took so long to get there, not sure what was up. Glad it all went smoothly though. Thanks for the trade.

Quick note, you can't have Blind Obedience in this, as it has a black symbol on it.

One quick note, I actually added a few things to my binder that are on your want list. Collective Brutality, Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh I think are the only ones. So if you prioritize those above any of the ones on your list let me know.

As is, I like this:

My

Marsh Flats - 28

Liliana, the Last Hope - 26

your

Scalding Tarn - 52

Let me get back to you on Thoughtseize for Hostage Taker. A friend of mine might be needing the Thoughtseize soon, so I'll check on it tomorrow.

Have all of the Commander 2017 Decks. They're all open, but they are complete and all the cards are still NM.

Other stuff...

Another thing, Into the Wilds does actually ramp. Land for turn means you played it from your hand as a special turn based action.

I would drop Into the Wilds in favor of Oracle of Mul Daya. Better ramp and more options when utilizing fetches to shuffle away unwanted stuff. I also feel Crucible of Dragons is a little lackluster, as most of your dragons aren't really wanting in the area of raw power. Most of them do want ways to get them into play easier or to protect them. I like Quicksilver Amulet personally.

Other things...would cut Broodmate Dragon for Scalelord Reckoner. Fit in Utter End/Anguished Unmaking. Gotta kill those mana doublers before a combo player goes off hard. Blasphemous Act or Supreme Verdict should replace Dragonstorm, as it will not storm very well, and cheap boardclears are very necessary against decks like Krenko, Mob Boss or other such swarmy token decks.

Would also rework the mana base to include fetches. They're very very nice. At least Bloodstained Mire and Wooded Foothills, as those are your main colors.

Hope I helped

I would personally use 1-2 more of Sorcerous Spyglass. It might be excessive, but I think The Scarab God is going to be the boogie man of the format, and spyglass is kind of the best method of dealing with him in blue green.

One other issue is that I'm not sure 19 lands is enough with your curve. It's kind of heavy on the three drops, so you might get screwed pretty frequently. I might drop some Shaper's Sanctuary for more lands, thought 19 might be just fine. I guess you'd just have to test it out.

I also prefer Crook of Condemnation over Sentinel Totem. Also good against The Scarab God as well as God-Pharaoh's Gift.

Cool deck otherwise, kind of hope the merfolk and vamps get some more love in Rivals. Feels like Dinos and Pirates got more good stuff in Ixalan. Guess we'll see.
