EDH player. White/blue.

Aiming for the 75% optimized tier of EDH, looking for friendly and interactive games. Theme deck enthusiast, personal expression deck lover. I keep a variety of decks saved for online playtesting and experimenting, but my two favorite decks are:

Live and Learn: My "personal expression" deck. Bant skies, primarily angels, led by Kestia, the Cultivator , running infinite turn combos as back-up finishers. Thematically representing growth, personal strength, and the pursuit of education.

I'm Looking to the Sky to Save Me: My first EDH deck, updated and tuned. White/blue devotion and tokens, led by Ephara, God of the Polis . Thematically representing idealism, faith, and the greater good.

Any potential for Coastal Piracy as a second copy of Bident of Thassa ?

Awesome deck idea! Blending together artifacts and pirates was an inspired choice. Revel in Riches + Smothering Tithe looks really fun to play!

Have you considered swapping out Elvish Rejuvenator for Farhaven Elf ? It will only grab basics, but it seems like missing a land in the top five with Rejuvenator would be a big beating.

Although I just looked up at your past comment and noticed that it's getting cut for Mana Crypt , so I guess you already thought of that! I also noticed that you've been considering Linvala, Keeper of Silence , who I would definitely recommend you try to find a cut for. She's always been great whenever I get to play her.

Thanks for the follow-up, Zerraphon! I actually used to play Angelic Field Marshal , but it actually got cut after it was a vanilla 3/3 for 4 too often! I didn't like how dependent it was on having Kestia: The Aura out to be of any real value. Serra's Guardian certainly costs more (and I'm still annoyed at it not having a foil printing), but I quite like how it serves an immediate role as soon as it hits the table, and isn't dependent on me having Kestia out to do so!

Serra's Guardian has actually been weirdly effective. I often consider cutting it for a Reconnaissance or something of the sort, but every time I draw it, it pulls its weight and more. Really appreciate your advice though!

Thanks, Beebles! I've tried more aura-heavy builds of this deck, but, honestly, those builds felt the worst out of all the various variations I've tried on this idea. Since this deck is trying to put auras onto angels and dragons instead of your typical 1-2CMC Bogles and the like, auras too often felt like dead cards since they need to sit in your hand waiting for a good target. Plus the deck ended up feeling really dependent on Kestia herself and everything felt more vulnerable.

You're totally right though; Aspect of Mongoose is a card that is high on my maybe list. (You're right in terms of me not totally loving the flavor of Rancor and Spirit Loop)

I'm only running Angelic Destiny (love the flavor) and Bear Umbra (super powerful) as my auras in the deck, but Ephara and Heliod (and Heliod's tokens) can carry a ton of weight in terms of being another source of a Kestia trigger. I can pretty consistently get 2-3 cards out of Kestia per combat in the middle/late game, but I definitely keep more auras in mind in terms of future possibilities. Always keeping an eye out for new auras that get printed!

Thank you for the thoughtful comment!

Hey, thanks for the upvote and for the thoughtful comment! I love your collection of decks. They ooze creativity and look like they would be a blast to play against. You've clearly worked hard on them and it shows!
