@ MCJennings The Anvil of Bogardan looks very sweet to me and I think that it might just be better than Howling Mine indeed. Very often I'm hording valuable enchantments and artifacts in my graveyard to cast an Open the Vaults , most of the time resulting in a powerfull bordstate unexpected by my opponents. The Anvil should be able helping me by filling my graveyard over the time with valuable goods... I'm making some changes to my Zedruudeck at the moment, trying out some new things to spice it up. So I did just cut the Howling Mine for Torpor Orb (SCREW YOU, Bane of Progress !!) . I'm going through some testing right now and I will update the deck sometime next week here on tappedout :)

A really nice decklist you've put together here, it's worthy of the great goat-mother! I love all the weird litle synergies between the cards. Exspecially the combination of Oblivion Ring , Worldpurge and Barren Glory is just phenomenal, as Barren Glory is simply one of the funniest alternate wincons ever printed!
For the suggestions there's only one card I think would fit in this deck perfectly: Clever Impersonator can be everything you want and is just a better Phyrexian Metamorph in my opinion. You might also be running booth for even more fun ;) Simply imagine to have 3x Assemble the Legion in combination with Paradox Haze ...

@MCJennings I'm glad that I could arouse your interest in this formidable weapon :) I have just teted it yesterday at my local FNM and it did great work. I managed to copy an opponents Boundless Realms by using Sunforger to cast Fork ... This was probably one of the greatest plays I've ever done :D
I like your way of thinking about the "huggy ramp" There's one card that came to my mind immediatly: Oath of Lieges seems to fit in this category perfectly... gods be merciful... Now I need to overthink the decklist again...
Transcendence truly is a great and absolutely insane card! I had it in the deck for a long time but I am switching my wincons, trying new things from time to time. I'm sure it will make its way back into the deck at some point though, as it is one of my personal favourites... I remember one particular situation: One of my opponents was casting an Exsanguinate for 35, killing all players but me and himself. I had a Render Silent at hand... but also had an Enlightened Tutor ... I decided to use the tutor, fetching me the enchantment in question. The Exsanguinate-guy at first didn't get what I was up to, telling me that this wouldn't help me to survive his next turn. This was until I gifted him the enchantment gracefully... :D
I know what your talking about... it's the evil goat speaking out of you there... I do love my Perplexing Chimera ... so much chaos... just perfect. I just recently stumbled upon the Divine Intervention ... I. Need. This. Card. It's just everything my deck want's to do: Spreading a lot of chaos doing some unintelligible nonsense, prolonging the game for about 15-20 turns just to cast a card like this...

@ MCJennings , I can see the problem you have with Venser here... I do have the same problem and usually use him as a wincon only --> blinking the Illusions of Grandeur to gift it multiple times. That is unless I can protect him with the Sphere of Safety I have in my list.
Decree of Silence really is an evil card when paired with Solemnity . If this is on the board you usually have won the game... I had it in my own deck for a long time.. until my opponents where so mad about this combo that I needed to switch it out for something else :D
Pendrell Mists also seems to be a rather valuable card if you don't play to many creatures and don't want to have your opponents to have them aswell... I'm fearing only that this card might be provoce a lot of hate on the side of your enemies, making you to a great target. If that is fine for you though... go for it! Let them suffer :D
Null Chamber is a card I thought to put into my own deck from time to time allready... It's just so plitical and you can arrange yourself with another player what cards to be called, denying your opponents multiple ressources. The chamber would be much better than Nevermore in that case >:)

The Sunforger -package still is a work in progress. I had in in the deck for a long time (half a year now) but always came upon the same problem: I didn't draw the Sunforger... If I finally did it anyway, it worked absolutely fine as a tutor-for-needed-answers-tool. If i'm being attacked I always can use Path to Exile or Swords to Plowshares . If there is an enchantment I really want to be gone I tutor up Return to Dust , Oblation or the like. If something really bad is happening I can cast Teferi's Protection to phase out and if I should be missing a landdrop I can cast Tithe to search for a couple of lands. Thanks to Mistveil Plains I am able to use a single spell as much as I want to, putting it back on the bottom of my library. The only problem: Sunforger was always hiding somewhere in my deck... That's why I added some new cards to the deck, that shall help me by searching the infamous hammer: Enlightened Tutor (can be used to tutor for everything you should be needing repeatedly via Sunforger + Plains) , Open the Armory and Steelshaper's Gift . These cards however have just been ordered and the deck needs to be playtested yet. As for the sunforgers wielder it will most of the time be Zedruu herself. I try to keep my Zedruu-triggers low till the endgame, only drawing a couple cards/ gaining a couple life through her ability. She usually isn't being targeted at all by my opponents and only dies due to a boardwipe from time to time. The main goal of the deck is to stay hidden and fly under the radar most of the time. This usually works and people don't seem to care to much about what the goat is doing with her hammer.
The Clever Impersonator really is a very versatile and amazing card I just came upon a few weeks ago. While I really like your idea of the Copy Artifact being a 2mana manarock, the Impersonator usually serves a different purpose, targeting cards like: Venser's Journal , Maze of Ith , maybe Propaganda or Rhystic Study . Using it to copy Bitter Feud also is quite funny, as thing are getting out of hand quite quickly when everyone is dealing double to four times the damage to each other... The most valuable target just might be Paradox Haze though... just imagine all the cards you will draw, all the life you will gain by having three upkeeps <3
The Crown of Doom however simply is a very political card you can gift to your opponents to spread some bad blood. You usually want them to kill each other until only one opponent is left as it might be difficult to deal with a larger number of opponents when it comes to the winning-part. The important part about this card is that your opponents aren't allowed to give it back to you --> you are safe from the crown and draw cards from it while everyone else is trying to kill eachother... The Howling Mine is part of the grouphug-theme of the deck. While it of course allows everyone to draw an additional card, you are drawing one more card --> getting some extra value as soon as it is gifted away. Additionally the mine is a card your opponents don't want to get rid of --> it stays on the board longer --> you are getting more value from it over the time.
You are right about the Mindslaver being a lockdown with Academy Ruins aswell as with Trading Post + Forbidden Orchard . While I could be going for the easy win with Approach of the Second Sun or the like I really do love to have me some jank-wincons to make it more of a challenge to win for me. All of my wincons are hard work to pull of, but that is implied in the decks idea :)
I have had Tragic Arrogance in the deck for a long time and I know what it can do >:) problem is that I do need the Supreme Verdict for its ability of not being able to counter it, I need the Austere Command to pull of a "combo-win" with Enchanted Evening + Boros Charm and need Cyclonic Rift to deal with an indestructible board... or simply because it is awesome... :D I haven't got a free slot for another boardwipe though, so the Tragic Arrogance sadly needed to go :(
About the cards you mentioned: Bitter Feud simply is a fun political card that can be used to get rid of a very unpleasant opponent. Simply choose him and another player who will untap before him and he will usually finish him of. You can gift the enchantment away for Zedruu-value and rechoose its targets by bouncing it back to your hand/ blinking it with Venser, the Sojourner . Open the Vaults is very often a game winning card in this deck, as I'm usually getting back every single card in my graveyard. Cast this after a boardwipe or after you've been milled for some time and your board will be full of value all of a sudden. As this deck is focused around artifacts and enchantments you are usually getting more value out of this card than your enemies... Enchanted Evening + Greater Auramancy is a combo I have in the deck for board-protection during the lategame. As my deck doesn't heavily evolve around gifting permanents and uses Zedruu's ability only for some extra value or political offerings I usually can pull this of without having to much trouble. At the time I cast these cards I ususally have 3-4 of my permanents allready be sitting on my opponents boards so I don't need to gift away cards anymore. The only thing that doesn't work is winning to Illusions of Grandeur unless you gift the auramancy away to an opponent first.

A really great decklist you have here :) My own Zedruu-deck initially started as a bad-gifts-version, didn't work out to well for me though as I was hated off the board immediatly as soon as my opponents understood what I was up to... Your version whatsoever really seems to work as you're running a lot of stax + chaos-effects and I love all the different synergies. My own deck evolved itself into a more political style but also builds upon cardsynergies like Solemnity + Glacial Chasm or Mystic Remora . Take a look if you're interested: ( Zedruu, Enlightened Master ). You definetely deserved an upvote from me, as you truly have built a great deck just as the great goat deserves!

Zedruu was my first commander-deck and I'm still working on it to this day. I initially built the deck as the common bad-gifts version but noticed quite early that you don't live long as soon as the people know what you are doing when going for this approach... So I stumbled upon your version of my beloved goat-lady on youtube and was inspired immediatly!
While my decklist has been pretty similar to yours for some time (even running the same winconditions), I gave it my very own touch over the cause of time. Now the deck is reaching its final form and I only make minimal changes (changing wincons and the like). Maybe you want to take a look if you're interested and tell me what you tjink about it: Zedruu, Enlightened Master , it would mean much to me, since it was your deck that inspired me to build it the way it is now :)

For the suggestions: Have you considered to put Glacial Chasm into the deck? It goes very well with your pillowfort-theme and offers great protection/ is difficult to remove hence it being a land. It also kinda combos with Solemnity , which you are allready running.

@ enpc Booth Render Silent and Counterflux have been in the deck since its first version. Yet I came to the conclusion that I neither want, nor need counterspells in my deck. I haven't playtested it thus far, so I'll definetely keep them on the maybe-list if it shouldn't work out too well...
For the gameplay-perspective: The idea is to have Sunforger in the game as early as possible. If not at hand allready, use it to play Tithe and search for your Mistveil Plains . As you might allready be aware of, this allows you to put the spells just cast with sunforger back into your library. It isn't the idea to have as many sunforger-options as possible, nor to build the entire deck around it. The Hammer shall simply act as a tool for needed answers. The sunforger allows us to have all the answers we need, id this bordwipe protection due to Boros Charm or creature removal due to Swords to Plowshares . We can even tutor up Tithe if we would be missing a land-drop otherwise, or repeatedly cast Enlightened Tutor to develop our board. Even with this small selection of targets the sunforger has proved itself to be a very usefull tool in the deck. :)
@ arthursteel This are all great suggestions, some of which I allready had in the decklist :) The great thing about Zedruu the Greathearted as a commander is that she is so nonlinear and versatile. You can play her in many directions: While your friend seemed to be going for a chaos-style deck, I'm trying to build my deck the political way.

@ griffstick , Cutting the maze of course wouldn't mean to cut a land, but to cut a powerfull political tool. Same is true for the Kor Haven . While there are many tokenbased strategies, there also is the evil Karlov-player, the Ruhan-guy and of course Prosh... whos being one of the token-guys at the sime time. It's guite the diverse meta, what is a good thing of course, at it allows a very diverse gameplayexperience. At the same time it means you need to have multiple options to deal with your opponents. While the Sphere will protect me from token-harm, it will not keep Prosh from attacking me. The maze on the other hand will, aswell as anyone else as long as I'm willing to use it to protect them. The main goal of the deck is to forge alliances, getting rid of the other opponents as a team until only the two of you are left. Then the time has come to play our winconditions, which are weak against many players, but devastating against a single opponent...
Aaaahhh... This really is problematic, as I am working on this deck for much too long now and every single card has It's own important, irreplacable effect...

Ironically you just mentioned two of the cards that are among the most profitable in the deck in my opinion :D Divine Presence is probably my favourite pillow-fort-card ever.. Somehow it seems to shut down half of the table, not being able to deal any damage as everyone has a reliable blocker on their board. It is a mytery but strangely enough nobody manages to remove that thing... Might be cursed or something... In short: This card does huge work in my meta so I really want to keep it.
The Trading Post is one of the most versatile cards I know, offering you (on theme-) blockers (you may also gift them away for extravalue) , carddraw if you need it or, and that's the most important effect: artifact-recursion from your graveyard. Last but not least it is an important component of my Mindslaver -lockdown wincon.

@ griffstick , thank you for your suggestions! I think you might be right about the Library of Leng ... The only reason it is in the deck was because of Wild Research , to counteract its discard-effect. In combination with Temple Bell you had a 100% guarantee to get the card you tutored for. This was exspecially nescessary as I had Nexus of Fate as a wincondition in the deck and needed to tutor it up on every turn using the research/temple bell/library combination... As the Nexus isn't in the deck anymore, I think I can cut it from the list. It's sad though, as I kinda like this card :'(
Looking at the Sphere of Safety I kinda disagree with you. This might depend on my meta though, as nearly everyone is playing tokenbased strategies... Being the only person in blue I'm often being targeted by the more aggressive players. Even if the Sphere taxes my opponents only about 3-4 mana for every attacking creature, they are usually looking another way, where they can use their token-army at full advantage. The Sphere also seems to be the only way to protect my Venser, the Sojourner , who becomes very important in the lategame. Last but not least the Sphere goes very well with Enchanted Evening , making it nearly impossible to attack me at all if my opponent doesn't have infinite mana at hand. In short: I really do like the Sphere in the deck! :)

I need some help with my Zedruu the Greathearted Deck: There are two cards I really want to have in the deck. The problem is that I really have no idea what to put out, as every card is important and has its purpose...
The cards I want to put in are:
2.) Obviously Darksteel Plate (ALLREADY FOUND ITS WAY IN) as another way to protect my beloved goat from bordwipes, etc...
If you are the helpfull kind of person and have some time left, please consider taking a look at the decklist: Zedruu, Enlightened Master , and tell me your opinions on what to put out. Always remember: Zedruu will always share her appreciation ;)

I honestly just don't know what to say... Am I frightened? Am I inspired? Booth? Would it be horrific to play against this deck? Or simply the most immersive way of playing the game there is? Whatever it is you built there, it definetely is inspiring! Here I stood, thinking that my own Zedruu-deck had a lot of weird synergies... and then I find this deck... You can be proud of what you have created, upvote from me :)

It's a nice "classic" Zedruu you've built here :) Exspecially your description made it worth an upvote from me! As someone who's playing Zedruu without exceptions it's always nice to see someone building here on a different approach. While mine is built around being a nice person, offering a lot of political support (Have a look if you're interested: Zedruu, Enlightened Master ), etc. , yours is more evil while still staying true to the way of Zedruu <3
My suggestions: 1. Glacial Chasm as it is a great card on its own it is even more so when combined with Solemnity which you are allready running. 2. The Clever Impersonator can be everything you want it to be... something like a second Paradox Haze or Assemble the Legion might always be usefull... 3. The Humble Defector is a very usefull tool to forge alliances with your opponents. There's nothing that connects two players more than a shared Defector... <3 Always remember: Zedruu is love, Zedruu is life!

First let me thank you for having a look at my decklist. I spent a long time building it and it means a lot to me... maybe to much when I think about it :D About your suggestions: You're right, redundancy is good, and I had Puca's Mischief in the deck for a very long time, but had to cut it as I was in need for cards with lower CMC ( arround 1-2). It still is a very nice and also quite funny card and as I'm changing some things anyway, I might be giving it a shot :) Smothering Tithe is also quite strong, but as everyone in my playgroup is hating me as soon as I play Rhystic Study I really don't know what will happen as soon as I cast the Tithe... Reins of Power also is a fun card I looked upon many times, I just didn't manage to find the spot to put it in yet. For Phyrexian Unlife I had it in the deck for a long time, but everytime I felt the need to close the lock on me I just had better options like Glacial Chasm + Solemnity or Solitary Confinement on it's own. Your suggestions helped a lot and it's always nice to look at some ideas from other fellow Zedruu-players :)
