The point of this deck is obviously to dig for extra turn and extra combat spells. Proteus staff, although in my Narset deck, and Paradox Engine are both unnecessary to get this combo off. Sure, these cards can be good, but nothing can be taken out of this deck really because it has so much consistency. It is basically made up of ramp, extra turns, extra combats, tools to get the combo off instantly like unblockable and haste, and a splash of spot removal and land destruction. Adding anything else to the deck would make it very inconsistent, and adding staff would force the creator of this deck to remove creatures that protect Narset and help get the combo off.
