I feel like two strong inclusions would be Etherium Sculptor and Foundry Inspector to make it easier to cast all your artifacts.

Since you have such a high artifact count, Lodestone Golem might also help to give you an edge against the rest of the table.

No sweat! I like reviewing lists.

Grafted Exoskeleton can be insane for closing out the game rapidly. Exoskeleton plus a wheel puts everyone in range for you to quickly end things. Two wheels in a row and you just kill everyone.

Helm of the Ghastlord can also just be insane.

Mayael is a sweet commander, for sure. I feel like you might want more creatures, though. Thirty seems a bit low - there are a number of great options you could add to boost the number of threats you're packing and make each Mayael activation more scary. The last time I had a RG big stuff deck I was running 44 creatures, and even that sometimes felt light.

April 21, 2017 1:22 p.m.

Gyre Sage and Basilisk Collar also seem like great cards you could be running. Aura Shards has gotten pretty cheap nowadays too, and it seems like an excellent way to control the board with Marath.

Ah, I saw your comment about Echoes - ignore me.

April 21, 2017 1:15 p.m.

I feel like Mana Echoes is a must-include in this, since it can snowball out of control with Marath's elementals. If you also have Food Chain out, then you can just kill the table, but that's a bit more combo-y than most folks like. Even without Food Chain I think Echoes is absolutely necessary.

April 21, 2017 1:14 p.m.

I think Authority of the Consuls is just absolutely better than Suture Priest, since Priest requires you to devote your own resources to get triggers rather than just leveraging your opponents'.

I feel like the once-a-turn triggers are just a bit too slow, in practice, and would recommend something like Auriok Champion over Nyx-Fleece Ram.

Ajani, Caller of the Pride and Elspeth, Knight-Errant are both great at getting Karlov in for damage. Ajani can make Karlov deadly out of nowhere. Shizo, Death's Storehouse is another excellent card in that regard.

I have a more weenie-focused version of this deck if you're interested: Mr Bones Wild Ride. It focuses more on grinding incremental value creatures that on their own aren't huge threats, so your opponents don't have any satisfying removal targets. You get to build up these value engines and just pull ahead of everyone else while they're playing big threats and having them removed.

I feel like Rally the Ancestors is a must in any aristocrats-style list that can run it.

If you're looking to shift away from insta-wins, I was pretty happy when I pulled the unconditional tutors out of my WB list (Demonic, Vampiric, etc) and just moved towards a more grindy game plan. I switched to Karlov, so it might not fully apply here, but it might give you a few good ideas on where to shift if you want to move away from combo: Mr Bones Wild Ride.

Melira, Sylvok Outcast might be in order to keep your snakes alive under Midnight Banshee or Black Sun's Zenith. Harbinger of Night makes a solid Banshee number 2.

This color combination lends itself to a lot of choice card selection and removal options, so I'm surprised that this list is fairly light on both. I know some people prefer not to run tutors and I can understand that from a style perspective, but cards like Maelstrom Pulse and Abrupt Decay can be excellent in terms of removal. Chord of Calling seems like it would love to be in the deck, as well.

In terms of getting in with Hapatra, your options look a little light as well - Cover of Darkness and Dauthi Embrace can keep your commander sneaking past your opponent's defenses. Whispersilk Cloak can do the same while also protecting Hapatra.

All in all I love Hapatra as a commander. I'm excited to fiddle around with the deck.

Also, I'm loving the sweet Mycoloth deck. Any deck with a Mycoloth just has to be strictly better than without.

I've never been super impressed with Defense of the Heart.

Given the more sac-theme of your deck, you might have better results with Pattern of Rebirth?

I feel like there are more solid removal options than what you're including - Hero's Downfall is just better than Daring Demolition, for example.

Would Regal Force be a good option here, given the number of tokens you can produce?

Good luck! This looks like a ton of fun to play.

Presence of Gond combos with Intruder Alarm, which I think I'd re-add to the list before adding Midnight Guard. The unfortunate part of Presence is that the tokens don't have haste.
More often than not, if I go off and can't kill everyone, then my stuff is all going to die before my next turn.

Ignoring the on-theme cards, the ones that jump out to me first are Gravitational Shift, Secure the Wastes, Progenitor Mimic, and in a three color deck I'm not sure you can support Cryptic Command all that well.

You can probably also get away with one of either Propaganda or Ghostly Prison - I'm not sure you need both since you can tutor one up if you need to.

Love Derevi stax decks in general. This looks sweet.

Any particular reason for the omission of standard taxation effects like Thorn of Amethyst or Sphere of Resistance? Land Equilibrium and Back to Basics are other excellent inclusions in these colors, since you can rely more heavily on dorks instead of nonbasics to fix and smooth your mana.

Woodland Bellower only fetches nonlegendary :(

This is why I'm always bitching about WoTC printing a nonlegendary Derevi for me haha.

TempestShadow if Bounding Krasis untapped permanents instead of creatures this deck would literally become 10% better, but instead it just breaks my heart.

If I could include Woodland Bellower at the top of my Pod chain and use it to get Bounding Krasis to untap Pod? These are the things I dream about at night.

It's unfortunate that you can't get a margin rule to behave on a span tag within a paragraph, since the text really does start to push up against the text around it. Looks nice, otherwise.

jtwood, idk what their hosting solution is, but it's entirely possible the site uses multiple instances of the database to support load, in which case what you see might not line up exactly with what others see as the data replicates between servers.
