The peculiar name is based upon the card Luminarch Ascension.
Magic is my anti-depressant and motivator.
I'm fairly new to magic and already fairly obsessed; not only by the game but the community. I'm quite a big nerdy geek, I aced my Web Design Course, I have a passion for literature, specifically sci-fi.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Firstly: my deck was not based on yours. I was adamant about building a grixis deck before I knew you were making one. However I decided not to let that affect me. I dislike having a similar deck to you, no matter which came first.
Secondly: Like any good deck of any archetype, they tend to have similarities eg most good standard jund or now vampire decks are pretty much the same as it is an archetype they tend to lack creativity.
Thirdly: Red is always good for burn. Blue for mill or control. Black for aggro or discard. I love quests and ascensions, for grixis you could use Archmage, Bloodchief, Pyromancer Ascensions; Archmage and any quest are pretty useless for this type of deck. Therefore it became essentially a discard mill with burn and ascensions to boost.
Finally: Magic is my anti-depressant, it motivates me like...well, not much else. I like to build decks to preoccupy myself, you may have noticed that none of my decks have are truly masterpieces of hidden genius; I haven't discovered any broken standard combos. Therefore my decks tend to verge on normality. I didn't intentionally 'copy' your deck, I tried to not view any grixis entries as a prevention and stuck to the gatherer. It wasn't my intention and I apologise for the apparent similarity.

I concur: your deck works better creatureless.
Due to you having 24 sorcery & instants; zendikar/pyromancer-ascension.jpgPyromancer Ascension would improve the potency of discard/pain.

I already realised all of what you just said. The new set will be very different, and can't wait to see what else they have in store for us. Overall, it'll be a change of pace for all deck archetypes which is always interesting.
