AtomicEmpire Grandmaster

Hey there. If you're looking for Lacour, you've found him. I've just upgraded recently and changed my username.

Before you explore my profile page some more and potentially look at my decks, let me say a couple things. First, if I ever come off as knowing absolutely nothing about this game, please keep in mind that I am a newer player. So if you are going to say that I suck as a deck builder from a shitty deck I built 6 months ago, please give me another chance. I openly admit that I am often wrong, more that I'd like to be wrong about anything. For example, if I say that a card you consider good is bad, and list the wrong reasoning, please let me know or give me a few weeks to figure it out. Much appreciated. Secondly, if you have an issue with me as a person, or you don't like a comment I made on a deck or on your wall, or even your binder, please come talk to me instead of straight-up blocking me. I am willing to maturely talk about anything you don't like about me, and attempt to correct it if I agree with you, and probably even if I don't. You can of course just block me, but that doesn't accomplish anything except having us both leave the encounter with a bad taste in our mouths. And furthermore, I might also turn around and do the same thing to another user, which isn't very fair to them.

On to the more positive stuff about the actual game!

I am primarily a Jeskai player, and you are welcome to ask me any questions about the colors, my deck, and other Jeskai archetypes.

My favorite color is . I love how you can manipulate the game with the color, and I have been in love with counterspells since I started playing the game.

My favorite guild is . Mashing together , which is primarily about intellect and thinking before you act, and , which is about acting before you act, and then acting again, is so much fun to play. The way the two colors clash is very interesting to me.

My favorite clan is . This is about the game more than the colors philosophy. Izzet was already good, and offers more removal like Path to Exile and insane utility in cards like Restoration Angel.

I play Jeskai Kiki-Jiki competitively. Check it out here:

I've also got a Jeskai Delver homebrew that I mess around with when I don't want to play Insanity Sauce.

Hey so I posted after you in the modern deck forum but I can't view your Jeskai Kiki-Jiki deck. Is there another one you'd like feedback on?

AtomicEmpire- Here's my friend's list that you mentioned you were interested in seeing. The only deck of mine that it can't seem to beat is my Esper Mill list (for obvious reasons). Bring to Light Scapeshift

I'm fairly new to Esper, and couldn't help but see a few things that I thought were off. Feel free to tell me I'm stupid:)

4 Verdict send like too much. Whenever I test a playset, I always draw them way to often . I feel like 3 is a good number for the deck.

WSZ is IMO worse than Secure the Wastes. Secure can be used as a stabilization tool, but WSZ is mostly a win condition.

I'd try a 3/3 Push/Path split.

Otherwise I like it. I would remove the Blessed Alliance, but IDK what to put in for it.

Mana Leak is there because Bolt is at its worst right now. I would consider swapping one for a Negate, but otherwise will keep Leak in. Anger is there for Dredge, although that's already such a bad matchup that I just hope to win a game.

Condemn isn't a bad idea, might give it a try in place of a Leak. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

I would honestly cut a Snapcaster Mage. We have less cards that it can Snap than the other control decks in the format (Jeskai Nahiri and Grixis). Some cards that are bad with Snapcaster Mage are stuff like Think Twice, Sphinx's Revelation, and especially Logic Knot. That will free up space for another Serum Visions. People (me included) have started running four Serum Visions mainboard, and using Esper Charm for it's Mind Rot ability, as Think Twice and Serum Visions give us a lot of card advantage.

Otherwise I love love love the deck!

Could you post the old Esper list on my wall please? Thanks friend!

Does anyone think there's room in Esper Control for some sort of finsiher like Tasigur, the Golden Fang?

You're not alone :)

I'd cut a Wear / Tear from the board to make room for the mainboard Anger of the Gods to be moved there, and a fourth Ancestral Vision be added. 4 Ancestral Vision is pretty essential to most Jeskai Nahiri decks. Otherwise, I like it! +1

That comment was about my Jeskai Kiki Jiki brew. I can give you a deck list if you would like.

April 21, 2017 1:31 p.m.

Yeah. Imma rip one in half and put it in a card sleeve :)

cplvela0811,

You got this! Put in like 8 in place of your Flayers and Goyfs. I've never really liked them, they're pretty bad cards.

Nice deck overall though, +1! If you need to trade for anything in here, I have Restoration Angels and a Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker for ya!

April 20, 2017 8:04 p.m.

LOL ya it's a card you really need for Jeskai Draw-Go. I'll put in five in place of my Cryptic Commands and Anger of the Gods.

April 20, 2017 7:43 p.m.

That's a pretty good card. I will definitely try it out. I have considered Spell Queller, it's just really susceptible to burn and removal, and I can't really find a spot for it or the Cryptic Serpent. Ideas for what to take out for those two? (as well as Spreading Seas). Will give the Anger of the Gods/Supreme Verdict thing a try at FNM tomorrow. Thanks so much for your continuous support!

April 20, 2017 6:26 p.m.

Also, whats the issue with Jeskai Nahiri right now? Or why wouldn't you play it?

April 20, 2017 2:50 p.m.

@Teddyjunior11

Thank you for the compliment and Upvote my friend!

April 20, 2017 2:45 p.m.

@Populous,

The deck just performs overall badly. I haven't won a game against a legitimate Modern deck, and I can't seem to win against many of the fringe ones either. Maybe I'm shuffling badly?

And with the mana issue, I find myself fetching a Sacred Foundry pretty early on, especially with a Wall of Omens in hand.

April 19, 2017 7:53 p.m.

Hey guys. I've got the same shell (Jeskai Kiki Jiki) but a few different cards. I really need help with this, it's making me so mad because I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the deck is performing abysmally. Thanks a lot!
