My favorite card is Collected Company and I have experience playing everything from American Sphinx's Rev Control in Standard to Modern Death's Shadow Zoo.

Midrange and Good Stuff, usually not too many spell heavy decks.

I'm working on brewing a deck featuring some subset of the following cards and any cards 5 dollars or less a piece. I have 4x of every standard legal land, so mana base doesn't have any restrictions. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.
2x Ruinous Path

Thanks. I'll be testing it to see if it's strong enough for my meta. :)

Actually, a cute example of the most likely T3 kill (least cards involved and least going right), is T1 Tapped Cinder Glade, T2 Forest/Mountain into Snapping Gnarlid, T3 Fetch, crack, Atarka's Command (3 + fetch into play), crack, Atarka's Command (3 + fetch), crack, Become Immense for 20 exact. Or, T1 Fetch, Mountain, Monastery Swiftspear, T2 Fetch, Forest, Atarka's Command (3 + Fetch into play) or Swell of Growth for a fetch, hit for 2/4 (5/4 damage done), T3 Temur Battle Rage into Become Immense or land into a number of absurd kills. The first requires 9 cards, the second requires 7 cards but the lands are slightly more exact.

You can also do similar by casting turn 1 Scythe Leopard, turn 2 land + Makindi Sliderunner (2-3 damage), then fetch, crack, Atarka's Command to deal three and put a fetch into play, crack fetch, and either Atarka's Command against (3 damage + land or 3 + +1/+1 reach) or Swell of Growth with a land or Temur Battle Rage. There are a ton of variations for getting a turn 3 kill, but they all involve T1 Monastery Swiftspear/Scythe Leopard, T2 Snapping Gnarlid/Makindi Sliderunner, T3 Swell of Growth/Atarka's Command + Swell of Growth/Atarka's Command/Temur Battle Rage/ Become Immense with a total of four or five lands and at least two fetches.

I was thinking of possible casual decks for standard and was wondering if anyone had a list which used Emeria Shepherd to do naughty stuff with Gideon, Ally of Zendikar's ultimate, Kiora, Master of the Depths's -2, Oblivion Sower, and some number of Siege Rhinos to make the deck playable.
If anyone has a sweet standard list along these lines, I would love to see it.

I don't know the cut, but 4x Lightning Bolt is pretty much never wrong in a red deck. shrug

+ + could be a good set of cards for the Eggs deck.

I'm worried about Elvish Visionary not being able to apply pressure on its own. Against most of the better decks, attacking with Alesha, Who Smiles at Death more than once, if at all, seems difficult. I genuinely expect to never keep a creature more than two turns, so a 1/1 for two mana is somewhat hard for me to justify, even if it draws a card. That said, the interaction between Visionary and Alesha is very strong, and if the format is looking cooperative, I might think about a couple copies; they do help my curve.

Yeah, I have been impressed with Elvish Visionary as a turn 2 play in the Abzan thing I've been on, but I despise hitting it off of Collected Company, so I don't know how to feel about it until I've tested the deck enough to know what sort of draw power it wants.

I don't know if I'll be able to get my hands on Nissa, Vastwood Seer Flip before BFZ standard week one, but I'll be looking into testing at least one copy in the first couple weeks. I don't know if I want to run the full four raptors in the main week one, as I've been hating them in an Abzan Collected Company deck I've been working on for a while (even with Den Protectors), but this may be because of how hostile the current format is to Raptor (Ashiok, Perilous Vault, Anger of the Gods). I put the Makindi Sliderunners in for curve considerations, as the deck felt too '3' heavy (also why I put in Scythe Leopard), and I put in Valakut Predator as the biggest of fat possible for the deck. I'll be looking into alternate options for the curve, though Atarka's Command currently seems like the best card over Sliderunner.
