Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed interactions

Asked by Nabuseri 4 years ago

So I was wondering specifically on rules and a small combo. I know you have to sacrafice Xiahou Dun, The One-Eyed before attackers are declared.

What I am wondering if you could use Phyrexian Altar , 6 other creatures, Xiahou Dun, The One-Eyed and Living Death to repeatedly gain infinite mana and keep using that recursion over and over during your main phase.

I wanted to see if this would be something to combo out with torment of hailfire

This looks like it would work out just as described

So you start by sacrificing Xiahou Dun, The One-Eyed and six other creatures for mana to the Phyrexian Altar , cast Living Death to get them all back (with 2 mana to spare this time), and then sacrifice Xiahou to get Living Death back before sacrificing the six creatures for mana again (1 mana to spare, plus the previous total)?

Yes, that would work. You'd have to remember to start off the cycle by getting Xiahou into your graveyard in some fashion in order for Living Death to include that in the reanimation cycle.

(Also looks like Xiahou's card isn't actually in the database. Interesting.)

Xiahou Dun, the One-Eyed since The deck is getting a higher priority link for some reason and people in the future may need to see the card.
