Would Phantasmal Image kill my Illusionary Servant?

Asked by MartialArt 10 years ago

In the wording of Phantasmal Image there is no "target" so I thought it should not trigger the Illusionary Servant s ability, does it?

You are correct, Phantasmal Image does not target anything and therefore would not trigger Illusionary Servant 's ability.

No. You are not targeting Illusionary Servant with Phantasmal Image , it is merely entering the battlefield as a copy of that card.

Illusionary Servant would be killed if Phantasmal Image 's ability was affecting Illusionary Servant , I.E. "...target creature/permanent..."

So it could also copy hexproof creatures?

That's correct. Since it doesn't use the word "target", it gets around hexproof, shroud, and protection.
