Would Nephalia Smuggler let me keep an opponent's creature i took with another effect??

Asked by Bombhunter12 7 years ago

In one of my decks, Yasova Dragonclaw is my commander. If I use Yasova's triggered ability to gain control of opponent's creature, then in my second main phase blinked it with Nephalia, would that allow me to permanently control the creature?

Yes, since the ability on Nephalia Smuggler says that the creature returns under your control. When the creature leaves the battlefield and returns a bit later, it has no memory of its previous existence, including its former controller.

Boza that's what I was thinking, I just wanted to be sure since there are no rulings regarding Smuggler. Thanks

Not every ruling and interaction can be fitted on a card's Gatherer page, but the most common are. For everything else, there is Mastercard, I mean the Comprehensive Rules.

I think I'm going to build a constructed and/or commander deck around this concept. Steal my opponents creatures then blink them and amass an army of traitors (insert evil boss laugh)
