Would i get a warning for missing a trigger?

Asked by smackder 9 years ago

I was playing against a random guy and i missed the enter the battlefield trigger for my Frost Titan , my opponent reckoned that i would get a judge warning for forgetting to do my trigger? Is he right?

No.

Generally you'd only get a warning for missing a non-beneficial trigger. Missing triggers that benefit you doesn't generally incur a warning.

We only give warnings for what we call detrimental triggers, which basically means something that hurts you. If they are detrimental, like Dark Confidant then you receive a warning and if its within a turn cycle the opponent has the choice of putting the trigger on the stack. Frost Titan 's trigger is not detrimental so there is no penalty. There is a missed triggered guide for most sets on the Judge Wiki. if you just google "Detrimental triggers for "insert set"" it should give you the missed trigger guide for that set.
