Would I get a token in this case?

Here's what happened. I was playing with my friends and I had Necromancer's Stockpile on the field. I used it's effect and discarded Loyal Cathar Flip. would he give me a token due to him being a transform card with his moon side being the creature type I need or would I just get to draw a card?
No, you would not get a token.
Double faced cards (DFCs for short) have the characteristics of their front faces ("Sun" side) in all zones. It is only on the battlefield that can ever be with their "moon" face up.

No token. Just draw a card. Cards are only their face values in all zones except in play when flipped.
