Windbrisk Heights Ability

Does Windbrisk Heights's ability allow me to play a land card if that was the exiled card? Am I allowed to do so even if I've already had a played a land that turn? Also, what is the interaction when you cast Return to the Ranks with Windbrisk Heights?

Yes, it allows you to play a land card because it says "You may play that card", however it will count as your land for the turn if you have not already done so in the turn. If you have played your land for the turn already, you will not be able to play the hidden land card.

Keep in mind that you can't use cards like Windbrisk Heights etc. to play a land on an opponent's turn, as the rules specifically say you can't play lands when it's not your turn.
