which has priority, Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury ability or Hex Parasite?

Asked by metalmustaine 8 years ago

What if I already had Hex Parasite in play and opponent casts Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury during his turn. Can I kill freyalise before her ability is activated using Hex Parasite ability?

No. Once a spell has resolved, and the stack is empty, the active player gets priority in which he may activate Freyalise, Llanowar's Fury's ability. You can activate Hex Parasite in response to the planeswalker's ability being activated, but the loyalty ability will resolve regardless of if the Planeswalker dies or not.

See rule:

116.3b: the active player receives priority after a spell or ability (other than a mana ability) resolves.

Meaning you have to wait for the active player to activate the Planeswalker's ability before responding with Hex Parasite

but even so, i can still respond by killing the planeswalker by sucking the loyalty counter before my Hex Parasite is also killed correct?
