What happens when you use Act of Treason on a God card and don't have the devotion for it to be a creature?

Tonight while playing at my friend's house he asked what would happen if you used Act of Treason on Xenagos,God of Revels. Xenagos was a creature at the time my friend casted Act of Treason, but did not have the right colors for the devotion necessary for him to be a creature. Does the devotion of the owner still apply? If it does not, then Xenagos was simply an enchantment on my friend's field, correct? Since Act of Treason states you gain control of target creature til end of turn and if he isn't a creature on your side of the field, does it stay since it's an enchantment, or does the fact that the card's type is 'creature' does it go back to it's original controller and you wasted an Act of Treason?

Whenever an object refers to "you," it refers to its current controller. When your friend gains control of Xenagos, God of Revels , Xenagos, God of Revels ceases to be a creature because its current controller does not have sufficient devotion to red and green.

Also, the control-changing effect of Act of Treason only requires the target to be a creature when you cast Act of Treason and when Act of Treason resolves. Even the object ceases to be a creature afterward, the duration of the control effect remains the same.
