What happen's when exiling morphs?

Asked by The_Epic_Dog 6 years ago

If you had a morph in play, and you used something like Long Road Home to exile it and then return it to the battlefield, would it be face down or face up? What about with manifest and megamorph?

It will be turned face up; and "when CARDNAME is turned face up" abilities will not trigger. As for Megamorph, it will not get a +1/+1 counter from Megamorph, but it will get one from Long Road Home. As for manifest, don't quote me on this, but I believe if the card isn't a creature card, it will remain in exile, but if it is a creature, it will come back with a counter.

I found this set of rules on a similar question from March:

"110.6b Permanents enter the battlefield untapped, unflipped, face up, and phased in unless a spell or ability says otherwise.

304.4. Instants cant enter the battlefield. If an instant would enter the battlefield, it remains in its previous zone instead.

307.4. Sorceries cant enter the battlefield. If a sorcery would enter the battlefield, it remains in its previous zone instead."

So only instants and sorceries will remain in exile while permanents will be returned face up.

So if it's a noncreature permanent that was manifested, it would return face up with a(n additional) +1/+1 counter, which could be useful with Llanowar Reborn.
