What happens if I attach skullclamp to my kitesail apprentice?

I have an equipment based commander deck and I have a small doubt, lets put the easiest example, if I attach my Skullclamp to my Kitesail Apprentice (or any creature that boost whe equipped), does it die and I draw 2 cards or do it becomes an 3/1 with flying?

Kitesail Apprentice's ability is a static ability. It applies as soon as Kitesail Apprentice is equipped and for as long as it is equipped.
When Skullclamp becomes attached to Kitesail Apprentice, Kitesail Apprentice will simultaneously get +1/-1 and +1/+1 for a total of +2/+0. It'll be a 3/1 with flying.
