What happens if Doran, the Siege Tower is killed before declaring blockers?

My Opponent attacks with Nyx-Fleece Ram and Doran, the Siege Tower.

I kill Doran with Immolating Glare.

Does this mean that the Ram will now deal 0 damage to me?

Nyx-Fleece Ram will deal 0 damage.

Doran, the Siege Tower needs to be on the field during the damage step for his ability to work, as it is a static ability that only affects things while he is on the field.

Unless otherwise stated, any abilties, whether they be activated or static, function only when the card is in the appropriate zone. For creature permanents, that would be the battlefield.
