What are ways to remove creatures with hexproof?

Asked by beast_of_war 6 years ago

I have a deck in which has a Scaled Behemoth. Assuming he doesn't get countered, are there any other tricks I would need to worry about getting rid of it? Thanks.

Boardwipes. Anything like Wrath of God, Blasphemous Act, or Plague Wind can take him out. There are cards like Glaring Spotlight and Arcane Lighthouse which get around Hexproof. Additionally, Edicts, cards that force you to sacrifice creatures, such as Chainer's Edict or Geth's Verdict can hit hexproof creatures if you have nothing else to sacrifice.

That's all I know of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's probably other ways.

Anything that doesn't use the word "target". Council's Judgment is another big one, besides the ones already mentioned.

Also combat. If you use him to block a 4/4 you have to watch out for things like Giant Growth, or even if you use him to swing into an open board you could get blown out by Cloudthresher.

I knew the combat rule (thank you though). So pretty much anything that doesn't say target (give or take). Thanks guys!

You may also want to consider using board wipes that exile instead of destroy in the case of indestructible creatures with hex proof and/ or giving -X/-X.

Here's a few cards to consider:

Mutilate
Angel of the Dire Hour
Descend upon the Sinful
False Prophet
