Two Xanagos'

Asked by cak01vej 8 years ago

What happens if I cast Xenagos, the Reveler one turn, and then cast Xenagos, God of Revels the next, does the legendary rule destroy one of them? Or..?

The "Legend Rule" applies when a player controls 2 Legendary permanents with the same name. The "Planeswalker Uniqueness Rule" applies when a player controls 2 Planeswalkers of the same subtype. You don't have either of those situations in your question, so you don't have to worry about them.

Only one of these cards is legendary, and they don't have the same name.

The legend rule applies only to legendary permanents with the same name. Xenagos, the Reveler is a planeswalker and is not subject to the legend rule. Instead, it is subject to the planeswalker uniqueness rule, which cares only about planeswalker subtypes and applies only to planeswalkers.
