Two Valkyries face each other!

I have an Adarkar Valkyrie on the field. My opponent as well. A different creature is hit by a Doom Blade. My opponent activates Adarkar's ability, targetting the creature that is about to die, I respond doing the same with mine. What happens?

I'd like to add on to Epochalyptik's post by saying if it's a multiplayer game (3+ players), and it's neither of your turns, then the triggers are put on the stack in turn order.
Meaning whoever's turn is before the other's will have their trigger go on the stack first, then the next player's trigger goes on top and resolves first.

Each player's ability will resolve and create a delayed triggered ability that will trigger when the creature actually dies.
When the creature dies, each player's DTA triggers. What happens next depends on whose turn it is.
If it's your turn, your DTA will be put onto the stack first (because you're the active player), and your opponent's DTA will go above it. That means that your opponent's ability will resolve first, returning the creature to the battlefield under his/her control. Your DTA will resolve, but it won't do anything because the creature it's looking for is no longer in the graveyard.
If it's your opponent's turn, you'll get the creature.
