Turn aside vs monstrous onslaught
Asked by Pskytzo 6 years ago
Had an ulvynwald hydra on the board 11/11 played Monstrous Onslaught chose the hydra's power to deal the damage and opponent played Turn Aside. My dispute is that the text says counterspell that would target A permanent you control.
Yeah, i realized that after i re-read both. Thanks tho Rhadamanthus

It would need to say 'counter target spell that targets a single permanent you control' to have the interaction you are thinking of.
The way it's worded, means at least one.

Anything on the battlefield is a permanent. If you chose any creatures controlled by that opponent as targets for Monstrous Onslaught ("divided as you choose among any number of target creatures") then it can be countered by their Turn Aside.
