The difference between put & play what is it?

Just a quick question. Does the Quicksilver amulet's "put a creature card from your hand onto the battlefield." Count as play from hand to battlefield?

Link all cards in your question.
Quicksilver Amulet
No. To play a card is to cast it (if it's a nonland) or to put it onto the battlefield as a special action by using an available "land drop" (if it's a land).
To put something onto the battlefield is merely to move it from wherever it is to the battlefield. It doesn't count as playing or casting.
