Strionic resonator and Isochron Scepter

If I copy isochron scepter's ability using strionic resonator, what happens when I use the scepter's activated ability?
What about if the card was elite arcanist from M14? What would I have to pay as X?

The entry in the FAQ I linked to describes that exact interaction. Let's say you have Brainstorm and Counterspell exiled. Because the CMC of the exiled cards are 1 and 2, you pay 1 + 2 = 3 to activate Elite Arcanist.

They released they updated M14 rules a few days ago, and this was one of the changes made.

A copy of an ability that's linked to another ability (the two abilities of Isochron Scepter are linked abilities) is also linked to that other ability. When you activate Isochron Scepter in this example, you make copies of both exiled cards and can choose to cast one, both, or neither of them. This is covered in the entry for Strionic Resonator in the M14 FAQ (you have to scroll down quite a while to get to it).
