Solemnity

Asked by PickleNutz 6 years ago

How would the new Mtggoldfish official spoiler card, Solemnity, released by Magic just recently effect Mikaeus, the Unhallowed? Would it essentially make every card that dies immortal because of undying? Or would it cancel the effect?

Yes, every creature with either persist or undying could essentially not be killed with this on the field. So everything with either ability goes infinite with a sac outlet and this enchantment.

There are so many combos with Solemnity. Dark Depths, things with cumulative upkeep (especially glacial chasm), anything with undying or persist, the possibilities are endless and truly terrifying.

Sorry if this was the wrong forum area, it was based on a spoiler card so I wasn't sure. Thanks for the insight guys, and watch out for solemnity in EDH haha.

Solemnity + Geralf's Messenger is an interesting pair in Zur decks and maybe in Modern. Sacrifice outlets such as Viscera Seer = win.

Razaketh, the Foulblooded and Kitchen Finks in Karador/Abzan is unbounded as far as I know with Solemnity in play.
