Sheltered Aerie does it change a lands normal mana output?

Or does a Forest, for example, with Sheltered Aerie produce a green mana in addition to the aura's effect?

What Sheltered Aerie does is give the land another mana ability in addition to whatever it already has. In your example, when you tap the Forest for mana you can choose to add either or 2 mana of the color of your choice.
