Will Servant of the Scale entering the battlefield effect trigger Hardened Scales?

Yes.

121.6. If a spell or ability refers to a counter being "placed" on a permanent, it means putting a counter on that permanent while it's on the battlefield and also to that permanent entering the battlefield with a counter on it as the result of a replacement effect (see rule 614.1c).

So Hardened Scales will be looking not just for a counter to be put on a creature already on the battlefield, but also creatures who enter the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter.

Always check the Gatherer rulings before posting a question. Simple or common questions are often answered by these rulings.

"Placed on a creature you control" includes that creature entering the battlefield with +1/+1 counters on it. If a creature would enter the battlefield with a number of +1/+1 counters on it while you control Hardened Scales, it enters with that many counters plus one.
