Sacrificeing a creature while casting a spell?

Asked by thegigibeast 9 years ago

Let's say I sacrifice a Guttersnipe to a fling, would the opponent take 2 damage because of Guttersnipe effect, then 2 because of Fling or would he only take 2 because of Fling because the Guttersnipe is sacrificed, so the effect is not on the stack when you cast Fling???

On-cast abilities trigger only after the casting process is complete. Because you sacrifice Guttersnipe during the final step in casting Fling, it won't be on the battlefield at the time the trigger event would occur. The ability won't trigger, and you won't get the extra damage.
