Results of Using Xenograft and Arcane Adaptation together.

Asked by SG083180 6 years ago

If i were to play a zombie deck and dropped Xenograft to make all zombies be faeries then dropped Arcane Adaptation to make all faeries wizards, would the result be that all my zombies now be creature type Zombie Faerie Wizard or would it break it up so that Arcane Adaptation doesnt factor in Xenograft affect?

You play Xenograft making all your creatures to be Faeries, not just your zombies, then you play Arcane Adaptation to make all your creatures Wizards, not just your Faeries. Your Zombies will now be Zombie Faerie Wizards and your Saprolings will now be Saproling Faerie Wizards. Your Zombies in your graveyard will now be Zombie Wizards as Xenograft does not effect your graveyard and Arcane Adaptation does.

Does it change the creature types in my hand as well as graveyard?

Example. Can I have rooftop storm in play with arcane adaptation, name zombies and cast consuming abberaion for free?

Arcane Adaptation does change creature types in your graveyard. If you controlled Gisa and Geralf (or some other effect that allowed you to cast creatures from your graveyard) you would be able to pay to cast Consuming Aberration using Rooftop Storm.
