Reconnaissance

Asked by oliveoilonyaasscureshemorrhoid 5 years ago

I have a land 'animated' with Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper, and Reconnaissance on the battlefield. I attack with the land.

Can I activate Reconnaissance to untap the attacking land, tap it for mana, then active Reconnaissance again and again for infinite mana until the phase ends?

Can I activate Reconnaissance to untap the attacking land for a bunch of times (holding priority), then tap it for mana after each activation resolves?

If not, is it because the creature isn't considered attacking after the first activation?

Thank you, in advance.

Question 1:

You can activate Reconnaissance to untap the attacking land, and ou can then tap it for combat. However, the land has then been removed from combat--it is no longer "attacking"

Question 2:

You can activate Reconnaissance multiple times in a row. However, Reconnaissance targets an attacking trigger. Once the first instance resolves, the land will no longer be attacking, and thus will no longer be a valid target.

Question 3:

Small point of clarification, the land is still considered attacking after the first activation--it's after the first resolution that the land is no longer considered attacking. I presume that's what you meant, but I just wanted to clarify since language is pretty important when it comes to rules.
