Reanimating Manifests

I've been wondering how manifests would interact with the graveyard, mainly, how they would come back.
Scenario #1: Suppose I have two manifests on the battlefield, along with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. If I were to sacrifice the manifests, they would come back due to undying. Would they re-enter face-up, regardless of card type (e.g: sacrificing a manifest that was a land)?
Scenario #2: If I cast Rescue from the Underworld, sacrificing a manifest for the additional cost, would that card return to play as well as the targeted card?

In both of these scenarios the formerly manifested thing would attempt to return to the battlefield face up. However instants and sorceries cannot enter the battlfield so they would stay in your graveyard.
In this case the face down card would return with a +1/+1 counter even if it was not a creature. Non creature permanents can have any type of counters on them.
Both of the cards would return face up aslong as they weren't instants or sorcesies.
