Quick Question About Shimmer

If I play Shimmer and name an island as a land type, would that enchantment technically affect me if all my lands are Snow-Covered Islands?

Yes. Snow-Covered Island has the land type "Island."
Shimmer doesn't care what the cards are named. It cares about land types.

Cards only do what they say. If you give an island phasing, ask yourself, "is a snow covered island, an island?" If you do that with most cards it answers a lot of questions. So the answer is yes. They're still islands.
