Question regarding using multiple equipments

So, obviously, a creature with shroud can't be targeted by an equipment's equip function, but how does it work when I'm using multiple pieces of equipment, one of which has shroud?
The specific question is:
Stoneforge Mystic, attach Sword of Feast and Famine, can I then attach Lightning Greaves, without the sword falling off? Does the sword stay equipped because it gains shroud after already having it equipped, just keeping it from being targeted by further abilities? If the sword wouldn't fall off, would the same be true for an aura enchantment?

The equip ability, not the equipment, is what's doing the targeting. Once the equip ability resolves, the equipment is simply attached to the creature. It won't fall off if the creature gains shroud or hexproof. All that shroud would do is prevent you from further equipping the creature.
Auras work the same way.
