Polymorphous Rush Interaction

Asked by AjaxSlumbering 4 years ago

Let's say I cast Polymorphous Rush targeting Precursor Golem and another creature, but not the two golem tokens. Do I get to turn 6 creatures into a different creature, or only 4?

Only Precursor Golem and the other creature will become copies of the chosen creature. You won't get any copies and the 3/3 golem tokens will be unaffected.

The second ability on Precursor Golem requires the spell to target a single golem and only that golem. In your example, since Polymorphous Rush has two targets, Precursor Golem 's second ability will not copy it.

From the Gatherer for Precursor Golem :

1/1/2011: The second ability triggers whenever a player casts an instant or sorcery spell that targets only one Golem and no other object or player. That Golem can be Precursor Golem itself, one of the Golem tokens it created, or any other Golem. It doesn’t matter who controls the Golem.

This combo will work but only if you target one golem.
