Plainswalkers

I know that you can only have 4 of the same type of Plainswalkers in your library, but can you have more than one of the same plainswalkers on the battle field at the same time. Or is this like the Legendary rule.

First, a "plainswalker" is a creature with the plainswalk ability (e.g., Zodiac Rooster).

What you're really talking about are "planeswalkers" (e.g., Jace Beleren).

No. Planeswalkers are subject to the "planeswalker uniqueness rule," which functions similarly, but not identically, to the legend rule.

You can only control one planeswalker of any given planeswalker type (e.g., Jace, Chandra, Sorin). If you control two Sorin Markovs, or a Sorin Markov and a Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, you choose one to keep and put the rest into their owner's graveyard as a state-based action.

And just to clarify, since "type" is a reserved term used to refer to words in a card's type line, you can have up to four copies of any planeswalker card in your deck (e.g., 4x Jace Beleren and 4x Jace, the Mind Sculptor).
