Perplexing Chimera - control on the stack

when i have Perplexing Chimera in play and choose to exchange control of it for a spell that's on the stack what happens when my opponent gains control of it? Does the spell i exchanged control of resolve before they gain control on the chimera or do they get it before the spell resolves? If so then can't they just simply take back control of the spell they cast since they now have the chimera?

The exchange is simultaneous; you gain control of their spell and they gain control of the Chimera at the same time. They cannot take the spell back with that same Chimera, because the Chimera has a triggered ability which triggers "Whenever an opponent casts a spell". Once the exchange has taken place, the spell has already been cast, so it does not have the opportunity to trigger again.
