Order of priority for Mana Reflection plus other mana fixers

Asked by Kamiserat 8 years ago

There was a question at the game store i work at about the order of operations for some effects with respects to Mana Reflection.

For example: Crypt Ghast + Mana Reflection + Nirkana Revenant on the field and a swamp is tapped... Does reflection double the swamp first to tap for then Crypt Ghast adds and then Nirkana adds for a total of ? Or does Crypt Ghast and Nirkana make a swamp tap for and then Mana reflection doubles that to ?

I was under the assumption that its the because reflection doubles what is produced whereas the others add mana in addition to the mana the land produces.

Your assumption is correct. Both of these creatures have triggered mana abilities that trigger when you tap a Swamp for mana. This means that the mana their abilities produce is independent of the mana produced by the Swamp.

If the creatures had replacement effects like Mana Reflection's, then they would apply multiplicatively.

Epochalyptik, i have one further question regarding this. Does Cabal Coffers work with Mana Reflection to double the created by coffers?
