Oracle of Mul Daya and Sylvan Library

Asked by abenz419 6 years ago

How does the interaction between Oracle of Mul Daya and Sylvan Library work? Does each card get revealed as I draw? If I keep only one card do they get to see the order of the two I didn't draw?

Each card you draw while possessing Oracle is revealed. The cards you place on top of your library are placed at the same time, and your opponent's don't get to see them (except the top card, of course)

4/15/2013: When playing with the top card of your library revealed, if an effect tells you to draw several cards, reveal each one before you draw it.

Remember to check Gatherer rulings for helpful answers to questions like these.

You'll reveal each card you draw.

If you put back multiple cards, you'll arrange them in any order, put them back on top of your library, and then reveal the top card of your library. The card second from the top will remain hidden. This is based on a ruling related to libraries (rule 400).

@ Epochalyptik Where did you find that on gatherer? I checked before I asked and I checked after your response and I don't see it. I'm not doubting you, as I was pretty sure each got revealed as I drew. I was less sure about when I put cards back though. I was just curious because when I look at gatherer it doesn't have any rulings from 4/15/2013, just updates to the rulings on 6/8/2016 when it was reprinted in eternal masters and none of those are the same as the one you listed. So I was just wondering what I was missing.

Ahh that's what happened, for some reason I kept looking up stuff about Sylvan Library when I was trying to figure out how this interaction worked. I had a huge brain fart and for some reason didn't look up the other half of the interaction in question. Thanks
