Ooze and Valkyrie

1 So if I have a Necrotic Ooze in my graveyard and a Adarkar Valkyrie in my grave, how does the ability work? does it state exactly how it reads on Valkyrie?
2 If that does work, can the Ooze target itself?

If both cards are in your graveyard, it's a moot point. Necrotic Ooze only inherits abilities while it's on the battlefield.
But to answer the other question here, whenever a card references its own name, it means "this object" unless it explicitly states "card(s) named ~." If Necrotic Ooze inherits Adarkar Valkyrie's ability, the former's iteration will reference Necrotic Ooze. You have to target a creature other than the one on which the ability is written.
