Myth Realized and Layers

Can a second activation of Myth Realized's second ability get around -X/-X effects? I believe this is a layers issue, which is a rules area I'm not strong on. (I do know that a lethal toughness decrease isn't avoidable, but other than that I'm not sure.) Thanks.

Generally speaking, effects apply only in the same layer and sublayer if they're of the same kind. A CDA or P/T-setting effect won't share a layer with a +/+ effect or counters, for example.

Fair enough. The Cloudform + Dance of the Skywise interaction being discussed recently just made me want to double-check my understanding of the system. lol

Reactivating its ability doesn't change anything in this case. The ability grants an ability which as CDA that applies in layer 7a. The -X/-X effect is applies layer 7c after the power has been set so you won't be able to save it.
