Multiple Touch of Moongloves damage effect?

Asked by Darthagnon 8 years ago

Situation: I attack with a creature. That creature is then blocked by one creature. I then cast two Touch of Moongloves on my attacking creature. Due to Moonglove's deathtouch, the blocker dies. Does the blocker's controller take 2 damage, due to Moonglove's secondary effect, or do they take 4 damage, due to the two instances of Moonglove?

Neither. They lose 4 life. Each instance of Moonglove makes them lose 2 life. It is the same as how drawing one card can trigger two Sphinx's Tutelage. Damage and loss of life are different. Damage can be prevented, doubled, can trigger abilities that loss of life cannot.

Apologies; my syntax was incorrect :) I meant "lose 2 life/lose 4 life", just hadn't quite differentiated loss of life and damage. Thank you very much for your answer :D
