Multiple end step triggers resolutions

Asked by DukeNicky 6 years ago

So I been away and am tweaking my edh deck and just need a refresher. If I have used Venser, the Sojourner's ability to flicker any ETB creature say Djeru, With Eyes Open while also owning a Conjurer's Closet would I in a sense get to tutor out 2 walkers because I can place closet on the stack then the restnof Venser's ability so that Djeru is back on the field before being flickered again?

Both Venser, the Sojourner and Conjurer's Closet triggers go on the stack at the same time. You wouldn't be able to target Djeru, With Eyes Open with Conjurer's Closet's ability because Djeru, With Eyes Open would not be on the battlefield. Conjurer's Closet's ability would be countered with no target (unless you have other targets)

Conjurer's Closet's ability would not be countered, it would be removed from the stack when you would normally choose targets (assuming there was no valid target). The game rules only actually counter the ability if it is put on the stack with a target and then the target is missing when it goes to resolve. Slight difference, but the overall answer is the same, can't target Djeru, With Eyes Open because he's not yet on the battlefield.

As a side note, Solemn Simulacrum works well with this cards, as does Thragtusk, Restoration Angel and Angel of Serenity. Oh and Cloudshift. Just saying, the combo might not be replicable multiple times a turn, but you can abuse with variety.
