Multiple Copies of Pathbreaker Ibex

Asked by DemonDragonJ 3 years ago

If a player controls multiple copies of Pathbreaker Ibex and attacks with all of them, how powerful would they become?

For example, and for the sake of convenience, if a player controls four copies of Pathbreaker Ibex and one Progenitus, and then attacks with all of them, what would happen?

My presumption is that the abilities of all four ibexes trigger, and, when each resolves, the bonuses that they grant become larger each time. The first ability resolves and grants all creatures +10/+10, then the next ability grants all creatures +20/+20, the third ability grants all creatures +40/+40, and the fourth ability would grant all creatures +80/+80; is that correct?

You are correct. They do all trigger at the same time (when they attack). As each trigger resolves, it checks to see what the greatest power is making the creatures you control. Then, your creature get that bonus.

Note that you're creatures don't retroactively get bigger. That is, the value of X for each trigger is determined as it resolves and is locked in place. After the second trigger applies it's bonus, the value from the first bonus won't change.

Hope this helps!!
